One thing I did was grow up as an ardent naturalist. I never grew out of my bug period.

These events focus on life from the late systems of ecology to the tiniest microbes. With such a broad topic students will have no trouble finding the right event to dive deeply in the awe inspiring world of biology.
Anatomy and Physiology is an annual event where the focus rotates. The skeletal, muscular, and integumentary systems are returning and there are lots of great resources for students to begin their preparations now.
Disease Detectives used to rotate topics, but now they include diseases from all categories so this is one event that changes very little year to year.
Ecology may change specific regions to focus on year to year, yet the basics of ecology remain constant. This year’s focus is on North American biomes.
*Entomology has not been around in a while and I am happy to see it back! It will be replacing forestry. For a year where the cicadas have been buzzing, focusing on insects seems appropriate. There may be a different insect list, but I am sure many from the list will still be included. You could get a head start preparing binder for this list now and edit it later when the official list is released.
Microbe Mission is returning for the 2025 season. Core microbiology knowledge and biology laboratory skills can be studied now to give you a head start on this event for next year.
