We will always have STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public eye and will go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and technology. And there will always, always be mathematics.

*Helicopter Is this year’s balsa wood flight build event. Students will build a rubber band powered helicopter. Students can practice this now by building practice helicopters based on previous years’ rules in order to become familiar with the event before trying to build one to 2025 specifications.
Tower balsa wood towers are built to specifications and can be practiced ahead of time in order to get familiar with the event before the rules come out with this year’s specification.
Robot Tour (Division C only) In order to prepare for this event, high school students can use last year’s models and practice with them, but I would hesitate to purchase the robot kit until the specifications come out in September. If you don’t have a kit, you can read last year’s rules and watch videos of these types of robots in order to familiarize your team with this event.
*Electric Vehicle (Division C only)Like Robot Tour, this event can be practiced using previous electric vehicles and rules, however, I would wait to purchase anything until the rules come out in September.
*Mission Possible (Division B only) Mission Possible is back and this Rube Goldberg themed event is always a favorite among students. Unfortunately, we can’t work on this one until the rules come out.
*Scrambler (Division B only) This event has teams creating a vehicle with an egg attached to the front that races towards a barrier and stops without breaking the egg. The specifications of the vehicle will be known in September. Teams can watch videos and practice building previous vehicles, but I would not purchase anything before the rules come out.
